Around 440 RVers and 218 rigs assembled this week at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds in Goshen, Ind., for the 2011 North American Heartland Owners Rally.
The event, running June 15-19, marked the sixth year that Elkhart, Ind.-based Heartland Recreational Vehicles has hosted a national rally for its growing owners club. Organizers said that attendees, representing 29 states and three Canadian provinces, were enjoying a mix of instructional seminars, leisure-time activities and entertainment.
“We have something for everyone,” noted Jim Beletti, director of owners interests for Heartland and president of the Heartland Owners Club. “We are holding 24 seminars over three days conducted by our vendors that focus on the use, care and maintenance of your RV. And for those who are looking for something less technical, we have Heartland owners showing people the variety of hobbies they do while on the road.”
The proceedings also feature a marketplace with 23 vendors while six Heartland RV products are on display provided by Elkhart dealer Great Lakes RV Center.
Highlighting the rally, eight buses will be transporting club members on Saturday to Heartland’s manufacturing complex for a factory tour where Heartland President and CEO Brian Brady will address the group. Following lunch, attendees will take a tour of the RV/MH Hall of Fame on the north side of Elkhart.
“The real objective is for people to have a good time,” said Beletti. “It’s all about celebrating the camaraderie of RVing and being able to rekindle old relationships.”
